Why VR Solutions

One guy who can actually do all of it.

VR Solutions is owned and run by Aaron VanRiper. He is hands-on in a way that is genuinely uncommon. He will frame a deck, weld the steel, run the excavator, and tile the shower himself.

That range is not a bragging point, it is a scheduling advantage. Most remodels stall because four different trades have to line up and nobody owns the calendar. When the same crew does the dirt work, the structure, and the finish, there are fewer handoffs, and fewer weeks where nothing happens and nobody can tell you why.

Got a project in mind? He will come take a look and give you an honest estimate.

Choose the week that suits you, even months ahead. We call to set the day and the invite lands in your calendar.

  3. 03

    Get a written number

Line-item estimate by email. Approve it online. No pressure, no vague ballparks that grow later.

  4. 04

    We do the work

We show up when we said we would. Progress photos as we go, and one invoice at the end.

Working with Aaron at VR Solutions has been a breath of fresh air. It's rare to find a contractor who consistently goes above and beyond, but Aaron does just that. He's stepped up on weekends to get jobs done, communicates clearly throughout the process, and always stays within budget. His dedication, reliability, and work ethic truly set him apart. I highly recommend Aaron and the quality service he provides.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Not seeing yours? Ask us directly. We answer.

Who actually shows up to do the work?

Aaron, and his crew. He is not a salesman who hands your project to whoever is available. He frames, welds, runs the excavator, and sets tile himself. That is the whole reason one crew can carry a project start to finish.

How do estimates work?

Free, and in writing. Smaller jobs we can often price from photos and a phone call. Anything larger gets an on-site look. You can pick the time yourself on the calendar on this site.

What areas do you cover?

Vallecito and Bayfield are home base, and we work throughout La Plata County including Durango, Ignacio, Gem Village, and Forest Lakes. If you are a little outside that, ask anyway.

Will the price change once you start?

Not unless the scope changes and you approve it in writing first. If we open a wall and find something nobody could have known about, you get a written change order with a number before we go further, never a surprise on the final invoice.

Do you take small jobs?

Sometimes, and it depends on the season and where you are. The honest answer is that a half-day of work gets scheduled faster than a one-hour stop, so it pays to save up a list.

How far out are you booking?

It moves with the season: staining and dirt work stack up in summer, interior work fills the winter. The booking calendar on this site shows real openings rather than a guess.

VR Solutions: serving La Plata County, CO

VR Solutions provides log & exterior staining, remodels & renovations, bathrooms & tile, decks & covered porches, steel buildings & new construction, excavation & site work, welding & steel fabrication, metal roofing & fencing, flood & storm recovery throughout Vallecito, Bayfield, Durango, Gem Village, Forest Lakes & Ignacio and the surrounding communities of La Plata County. Building at altitude in southwest Colorado is its own discipline: intense UV that eats finishes, a forty-degree swing in a single day, snow load that breaks undersized framing, and a building season short enough that scheduling is half the job. Materials and methods that work fine on the Front Range or the coast fail here.

Whether it is a log home above Vallecito that has gone grey on the south wall, a bathroom in Durango that needs to be waterproofed properly this time, a steel shop out toward Ignacio that needs a pad before it needs a building, or a cabin that took on water and has to be put back, the work starts the same way: a free written estimate and a real date on the calendar. Request a quote or request a site visit. Both take about two minutes.
